A Beginners Guide to Edibles

A Beginners Guide to Edibles

Edibles have started to become very popular in the constantly evolving cannabis industry. However, there are a few things you should know before munching down on some delicious infused gummies or other sweet treats. If this is all new to you, here are some tips and secrets to getting the most out of edibles. There is nothing worse than expecting a 250mg chocolate bar and not feeling the effects due to a mislabeled product. Finding a reputable company that’s true to their dosage is always most important because you don’t want to over consume and end up having an awful experience. Always start low and slow regarding edibles. Understanding how the body processes consuming vs. smoking marijuana is also very important. When you smoke, the THC goes straight to your lungs then into your bloodstream. Hence the high that has a fast peak but rapid drop. When you eat THC, your body has to pass it from your stomach to the intestines and then your liver and finally blood stream, causing a slow build up and longer lasting high. The best advice you could receive is to start low and slow. Some people are fine with 5mg of THC while others might need 350mg before they notice anything. Allow your body thirty minutes to two hours before consuming more. Make sure you stay hydrated and have had a decent meal beforehand. It’s never a good idea to munch on an edible on an empty stomach. Your body may processes the food and THC faster but this can cause you to feel anxious, paranoid and even hallucinate as the effects might be too intense. If you come across this issue, it’s best to stay hydrated and perhaps try some chamomile tea. Drink lots of water, try to sleep and make sure you’re in a safe place. For example when someone does get too baked and end up in the hospital they are put on IVF fluids and rest it out in bed. To avoid that embarrassing trip make sure your prepared by having lots of water, a safe environment (especially for the first time experimenting) and remember nobody has ever died from cannabis.  You can also counteract the feelings with low doses of CBD. The CBD will cancel any anxious paranoid feelings and help you feel more settled. I always recommend keeping CBD oil handy while experimenting with edibles. In my many years of experience with cannabis and edibles one of my favorite companies is Hi-FUD. They’re a Canadian based company pumping out handcrafted edibles such as gummy bears, Lolli pops and Oreo Nutella bites. Not only are all their edibles delicious but they are properly dosed and regulated! This has recently become an issue in the cannabis industry with edibles. Unfortunately many companies haven’t been properly dosing their edibles, which Hi Bears makes it difficult for newbies to understand their limit as well as our experienced users looking to get the adequate dosage they’re used to. I recommend that for your first time experimenting that you go with HI-FUD simply because they are regulated, dosed properly and don’t have that weedy after taste!   My favorite is the Gummy bears. They are sugar coated and pack a punch! With flavors like strawberry, orange, blueberry, lemon and my favorite banana! They come in both 75mg and 150mgs made with THC distillate. Because their product is handcrafted they can assure that each gummy is made to perfection and potent!  They also have a resealable package, making them easy to take with you to the beach or that music festival and great for newbies who’re looking to microdose. After an hour, I started to notice the effects. I was super uplifted, full of smiles and giggles. I was still super calm, relaxed, entranced and melted into my seat. These little gummy bears will keep you medicated throughout the day.  They are fast working gummies I will keep by my side all summer long!

Dealing With Pain and Edibles

Edibles are also a great alternative to smoking.  For patients and clients dealing with chronic pain, I like to recommend edibles because the effects last longer and it’s not as harsh as smoking can be. Who doesn’t love a sugary treat that’s going to get your medicated? However,    with patients dealing with chronic pain you need to remember to go low and slow. This is an alternative medici ne and we don’t want you to have a bad experience with it.  Try looking for products made with THC Distillate, CBD Distillate and hybrid mixes for the best results for dealing with your pain.  The Hi-FÜD Hi- bears are great for this because they are fast acting and long lasting. I deal with chronic back pain and it wasn’t until the end of the day that I realized that all day I’ve been pain free from the moment the gummies started to take effect.  Once you start eating one you can’t stop because they taste so great, but again low and slow for best results. I hope you enjoy these gummies and the other Hi-FÜD edibles as much as I did!! Stay medicated 🙂

Good info, but you should mention that you have to be very careful if you have children or pets and store your edibles adequately.
