5 Ways To Enjoy Cannabis Without Smoking
Not everybody can light up a joint and smoke, some patients with compromised lung health won’t be able to consume there medicine this way. Also, there may be days where your throat is sore and dry and you just can’t stand the idea of smoking and the coughing fits that can come with it. But luckily for us there are a few other ways to enjoy cannabis without having to smoke it. Thanks to the ever-growing marijuana industry and us innovative stoners!
The most popular would be edibles! Your baked goodies, candy and drinks. The edible world is constantly growing with a variety of snacks to indulge on, with your choice of low doses of THC or CBD or something super crazy like 300mg of THC in a chocolate bar. Almost any food or munchie can be infused with cannabis. The simplest way of making your own home-made edibles would be to make cannabutter or use distillate. With cannabutter you can add it to any recipe that calls for butter and replace your butter with cannabis infused butter for a perfect infused meal, or what ever you desire. Distillate can be added into any recipe or drink to turn it into a strong infused edible. One of my favourite edibles to help sleep is the Twisted Extracts – ZZZ Bomb, I strongly recommend it. Always be mindful that edibles may take some time to set in and can have strong lasting effect so start slow and low.
Oral oils and ingestibles such as capsules also make a great alternative. The capsules can be filled with an oral oil or any other form of concentrate. This is great for patients who are seeking gut relief such as IBS patients or can’t smoke due to health reasons. There is no denying that oral oils don’t always taste that great. A few tricks that I’ve found to help is a spoonful of applesauce or a warm drink nearby. You can also get an oral spray so you just sprits it in your mouth and you’ve got your dose. But the most common is capsules. We have a few great oral oil options and capsules. Keep in mind that you’re ingesting a strong concentrate so it could sneak up on you with powerful effects. Stick with low doses until you know what works best for you.
Another common oral ingestible is tinctures. Tinctures are made up from THC and CBD compounds in a alcohol soak and is placed under the tongue. What makes tinctures different is that they enter through the bloodstream immediately, because of this you get a fast-acting effect and with the measured droppers it has in the bottle you have better control over your doses. Tinctures come in a variety of options, we offer options that are just CBD or just THC, or equal parts and they are made in both high and low doses, making it easier to cater to your medical needs and preferences. One of the more popular tinctures in the office is the Spark Of Life – 1000mg CBD tincture. For a few reasons the spark of life CBD tincture is one of the offices favourites, but I think it’s mostly the taste. Having this tincture under your tongue is very yummy. It tastes very earthy, like a sweet herbal tea. I could drink the whole bottle if it weren’t 1000mg of CBD.
Topicals have slowly been becoming more popular because they relief pain symptom’s or inflammation with out the psychoactive effects of THC. Topicals are made up of cannabis infused lotions, massage oils, bath bomb, lip balms and other beauty and skin care products. Not only are these products infused with the awesome cannabinoid compounds, but most of them also use hemp butter. Just something I get a kick out of because it shows that this really is a wonder plant! One of my favourite topicals that we sell would be the Miss Envy lip balms. I honestly want to eat it, they smell so good and leave my lips super soft. For anybody dealing with sore muscles and body aches I would recommend trying one of the pain creams or a medicated bath bomb to unwind and relax.
One last great alternative is to vaporize! Yes, technically there is still smoke going in to your lungs but because the compounds can be vaporized at a much lower temperature it makes it easier on the lungs. You still get the same amount of benefits but without the harsh weed smoke. Vape pens often deliver a clean, light smoke that’s calmer on the lungs but still as powerful with the effects. You can also try table top vaporizers like the well-known Volcano, which offers high quality vapour and the option to control the temperate settings. The vape pens allow you to smoke either herb or oils wherever you go. We offer a few awesome vape pen kits and refills if your interested in trying a “smokeless” way to consume your cannabis.
I hope you try some of these options to enjoy your cannabis and it helps you! Stay medicated 😊
